Product Questions

How does the Stojo Cup work?

To expand your Stojo: open the tab, remove the heat sleeve, grab the bottom of the cup to expand, place the heat sleeve over the cup, fill with your favorite drink, screw on your lid, and enjoy!

To collapse your Stojo: open the tab, remove the heat sleeve, push cup down to collapse, tuck in the heat sleeve, close your tab, and stow your cup in your pocket, bag, or cabinet!

What comes with my Stojo Cup? Do all cups come with a straw?

Every Stojo cup comes with a silicone cup & tab, and a polypropylene sleeve, lid, & collar. At this time, only the 16 oz and 24 oz cups come with a straw.

How do I clean my cup?

We recommend rinsing your Stojo before the first use, and washing regularly to keep it in tip top condition. To clean, remove the heat sleeve, expand the cup, and unscrew the lid. You can wash your Stojo by hand with warm water and mild soap, or place it on the top rack of your dishwasher.

For a deeper clean between the cup and collar, squeeze the silicone cup into a “C” shape to separate it from the collar.

How do I reassemble my cup?

Squeeze the silicone cup into a “C” shape to fit it into the collar, and make sure the edge of the cup lines up evenly above the collar. Then, screw on the lid and slip on the heat sleeve.

What are Stojos made of?

Stojos are made of LFGB certified platinum food grade silicone & FDA grade polypropylene, or #5 recyclable plastic. (Oh, and love. Duh.) We believe our customers deserve the best quality materials, and transparency into our production standards.Note: LFGB is the German food safety standard, which has safer and higher standards than the US’ FDA standards. Our cups are free of BPAs, BPSs, phthalates, lead, and adhesives.

Where are Stojos manufactured?

All Stojos are manufactured responsibly in China. Our manufacturing operations meet acceptable standards for quality, safety, fair labor, ethical business practices, and environmental responsibility. In addition, we’re proud to hold strong relationships with our partners which have passed strict quality assurance standard upheld by Starbucks. Our manufacturing and sourcing partners maintain certifications for Quality Management System (ISO 9001) and Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) standards.

What can I put in my Stojo?

Basically, anything that fits. Some of our favorite beverages are coffee, smoothies, and tea, but our cups have also been used for fruit, soup, chips, and more. Go nuts!

Fun fact: you can fit 5 hard boiled eggs in the 16oz Stojo. (We checked. You’re welcome.)

My cup seems to be broken—Help!

Have you checked out our reassembly video? That should do the trick. Our products are designed to fit together like a puzzle, so it’s likely you haven’t broken it at all.

My cup is leaking—Help!

Once your Stojo is thoroughly dried after washing, and the lid and mouth tab are properly closed, it should be leak-proof. If it’s still leaking, we recommend reviewing our reassembly video to make sure your Stojo is assembled correctly.

My Stojo got stained. Help!

We do find that with use over time, some darker liquids like coffee can stain the food-grade silicone. To help with discoloration, we recommend soaking your Stojo in a mix of water and 3% hydrogen peroxide, and letting it sit for 24-48 hours. This should do the trick!

Can I put my liquid-filled Stojo in my bag?

While Stojos are leak-proof, we can’t guarantee that the other items in your bag won’t squish your Stojo and cause it to explode. So, we recommend against this.

What’s your warranty?

While we don’t offer a warranty, we do have a 30-day return policy on our products, and are always here to help!

What’s the lifespan of a Stojo?

Our cups are designed for daily use over many years. To keep your Stojo in tip top condition and prolong its lifespan, we recommend rinsing your cup after each use (before collapsing) and washing it regularly.

What happens when I’m ready to recycle my Stojo?

The heat sleeve, lid, and collar are all made of #5 recyclable plastic. The silicone cup, tab, and straw, however, would need to be recycled through a local municipal recycling program, like ECO USA. We recommend reaching out to your community to find out the best way to recycle these.

We're also working on building out a recycling program for our silicone components, and hope to offer more solutions down the road. Just let us know if you have any questions (or recommendations from your area!)—we'd love to hear from you.

How do I know if I have a real Stojo?

Flip that cup! All legit Stojos have our Stojo logo on the bottom, as well as our patent number.

How much waste does a Stojo reduce?

That depends… how many drinks did you have today? Multiply that number by 365 and you’re already making a difference. Go you!

How does the Stojo Bottle work?

To expand your Stojo bottle: unscrew the cap, hold by the tabs on either side of the collar, and pull the bottle up. (We don’t recommend pulling by the cap, as the band can come off.) Fill and enjoy!

To collapse your Stojo bottle: unscrew the cap and collapse the bottle down into itself. (Pro tip: hold the bottle between both hands, and press down on the ridges with your fingers.) Screw the cap back on and stow away, or hook the cap band to your bag.

More of a visual person? Check out this handy video to become a Stojo bottle pro.

What’s the best way to hold/carry the bottle once it’s filled?

We recommend holding your bottle at the top where the tabs are, or at the base.

How do I clean my Stojo Bottle?

To clean, wash your Stojo bottle by hand with warm water and mild soap, or place it on the top rack of your dishwasher. To keep your Stojo bottle in tip top condition, we recommend rinsing it before the first use, and washing regularly.

My cap came off—help!

Not to worry—it happens sometimes. Simply stretch the band over the collar of the bottle, right into the ridge above the tabs, and it will snap back into place. You’re good to Stojo!

How does the Stojo Bowl & Box work?

To expand your bowl:

1) Open up the clasps to let your Stojo breathe. (Ahh... that’s better.)

2) Use the tab to remove the lid.

3) Pop open your food storage, and fill it up with your favorite foods.

4) To seal your food storage, place the lid back on, and lock those clasps.

To collapse your bowl:

1) When you’re done with your meal, place the lid back on but leave the clasps open. (Pro tip: we’ve found it’s best to collapse with the lid on, to avoid splashes and spills.)

2) Push the bowl or box down, and it’ll collapse into a frisbee!

3) Lastly, remember to lock those clasps to seal your food storage. Throw it in your bag, and you’re on your way!

Can I put my bowl or box in the microwave / dishwasher /freezer?

Yes, yes, & yes! Stojos are temperature-safe, and can be used in all of the above. Fun fact: the tabs on our bowls feature microwave vents. Just make sure the tabs are open (not sealed) if you microwave your bowl with the lid on.

Do you recommend placing a fully loaded bowl or box in my bag / backpack?

Sure! Just make sure it is fully sealed and sitting upright, and use your best judgement! It’s totally fine to put the bowl or box in your bag if it’s filled with salads or pasta.

But don’t be soup-id—maybe don’t put a fully loaded bowl filled with tomato or chicken noodle soup in your bag with your laptop? (Your future self will thank you.)

Note: Our bowl and box is designed to be spill-proof, but not built to be a carrying case for steaming hot beverages. While the Stojo Bowl and Box is spill-proof, we can’t guarantee that the other heavy or sharp items in your bag won’t squish your bowl and cause it to explode.

How do I clean the Stojo Bowl or Box?

We recommend rinsing your Bowl or Box before the first use, and washing regularly to keep it in tip top condition.

To clean: remove the lid and pop open your food storage. You can wash your bowl or box by hand with warm water and mild soap, or place it on the top rack of your dishwasher.

For a deeper clean between the food storage base and the plastic neck ring, squeeze the bowl into a “C” shape to separate it from the ring.

To assemble the bowl or box and ring back together, look for the arrows on the inside of the ring. They should be pointing up! Place the ring under the food storage, and push up. They should snap right back into place!

My ring and clasps came off—is my bowl broken?

No worries—your bowl isn’t broken! Our products are designed to be taken apart and put together again (like a puzzle!) for a super squeaky clean.

The ring. To assemble the bowl and ring back together, look for the arrows on the inside of the ring. They should be pointing up! Place the ring under the bowl, and push up. They should snap right back into place!

The clasps. The clasps are designed to stay attached to the lid 90% of the time, but if you want to remove them for a really deep clean, you can pop them off. When you’re done cleaning, snap them back into place. Easy as pie!

My bowl or box is leaking! Help?

Once your food storage is thoroughly dried, the ring is properly assembled, and the clasps are closed, it should be leak-proof. If it’s still leaking, feel free to send an email to us at help@stojo.co with some photos / videos. We’d be happy to help troubleshoot!

My food storage got stained. Help!

We do find that with use over time, some darker foods can stain the food-grade silicone. To help with discoloration, we recommend soaking your Stojo food storage in a mix of water and 3% hydrogen peroxide, and letting it sit for 24-48 hours. This should do the trick!

Because we’re really into cleaning, we made you a guide on how to keep your Stojos fresh & clean. Check out more cleaning tips on our blog here.

What is the Stojo Jr. collection?

Our collection of collapsible reusables, designed for kids 6 and up! The collection includes our 8 oz Jr. Cup with straw, 14 oz Jr. Bottle, and 24 oz Jr. Box, in 6 vibrant colors! These sustainable superheroes are even more fun with less.

What materials is the Stojo Jr. collection made of?

The same quality materials you know and love from the rest of our Stojo products. The soft, squishy, and collapsible material is LFGB certified platinum food grade silicone. The hard and durable material is FDA grade polypropylene, or #5 recyclable plastic.

Oh, and love. Duh. We believe our customers deserve the best quality materials, and transparency into our production standards.

Note: LFGB is the German food safety standard, which has safer and higher standards than the US’ FDA standards. Our cups are free of BPAs, BPSs, phthalates, lead, and adhesives.

What kind of testing have you done on these products?

Our Stojo Jr. collection (and the rest of our product line) has gone through rigorous food safety standard testing, and small parts testing. (Which is why we recommend this collection for kids 6+.)

All Stojo products are microwave, freezer, and dishwasher safe.

What are the differences between the standard Stojo collect & the Stojo Jr. collection?

The Stojo Jr. collection was designed with children in mind. These products are made for little-r hands, and the collection is recommended for kids 6+.

- The 8 oz Jr. Cup comes with a straw!

- The 14 oz Jr. Bottle is smaller & shorter than our standard 20oz Bottles.

- And the 24 oz Jr. Box comes in a variety of colors, giving you even options for lunchtime, meals, and snacks on-the-go.

What’s the lowest / highest age recommendation for the Stojo Jr. collection?

Because of the removable parts, the Stojo Jr. collection is safe to use for kids 6 and up.

Little ones under 6 years old love Stojos, however, we wanted to make an *extra* note of caution that this collection was designed specifically for use by children 6 and up. If you’re comfortable with your little ones under 6 using our products, we strongly recommend adult supervision while your minis are using them. (Some of the removable parts can be choking hazards.)

My kid drinks a LOT during the day. Is it safe for them to use products that are not part of the Stojo Jr. collection?

See our answer to the question above! 🙃

Are there any removable parts that are a choking hazard?

Glad you asked!

- 8 oz Jr. Cup: the silicone tab and reusable straw.

- 14 oz Jr. Bottle: no small parts here!

- 24 oz Jr. Box: the plastic clasps on the lid of the Box & the silicone stoppers under the plastic clasps.

I love these colors but I’m not a kid. Can I use the Stojo Jr. products?

While this collection was designed for kids and is slightly smaller, it’s also perfectly wonderful for those that are young at heart, and like more pops of color in their reusable collection. We say go for it. Live your best life!
