From Brooklyn to Inc. 500: Our Journey

It all started with three dads and one goal: help to end disposable culture. By 2015, the Stojo cup had launched, and it was a game changer. Portable, leak-proof, collapsible, reusable, and, notably, just really good looking. We knew we had something special on our hands, and so did you. With your support we’ve been able to expand our line with more sizes, an equally successful bottle, and coming next? Food containers.

But now, we’ve reached a whole other milestone: The Inc. 5000. A list of the fastest growing private companies in America, coming in at 245, we join fellow change-makers and solution-seekers. We have to say though- resting on our laurels just isn’t our style. It’s not how we got here. We got here because three very important things lined up. We had a purpose. The purpose resonated with you. You decided to spend purposefully.

It’s no surprise that you and your fellow consumers are voting with your dollars. We all want change, a better future, a better planet. And that’s where we come in: with a goal to help save the environment one cup at a time. But it’s not just one cup. Sure it’s one Stojo- but that’s replacing your morning coffee, your afternoon pick-me-up, your picnic beverages. Each person is keeping 1-3+ disposable containers out of landfills every single day. In a year? Now that’s making a difference.

We want to say thank you, for shopping thoughtfully with us. You prove that sustainability is what the consumer wants, and you’re creating a bigger demand for it. We’ll continue to expand with purpose, and we hope others follow our lead. Our co-founder and CEO, Jurrien Swarts, says it best:

Stojo making the Inc. 500 List this year demonstrates that our mission-driven consumer brand that’s focused on sustainability really resonates powerfully with conscious consumers around the world. We see it as a call to entrepreneurs and investors to take note - consumers today vote with their dollars and are powerful advocates for the change they want to see in the world.” -JS
